CIPE: Radiocom, Inc. delivers a complete AMHS Training Center

Radiocom, Inc. has been chosen by ICAO to deliver one of the first available AMHS training centers for CIPE (Centro de Investigación, Perfeccionamiento y Experimentación) www.cipe.atfreeweb.com.

CIPE sees back its history to October 4th 1960 when it was founded in order to fulfill training needs of Argentina. It is recognized today as one of the oldest training centers in the world. Countless numbers of Air Traffic Controllers have been trained at CIPE.

Its long standing record has been recognized internationally and many civil aviation administrations (particularly from the CAR/SAM region) started to use its services in order to train their ATS personnel. This fact leads to an official recognition from ICAO that in 1975 designated the center as a recognized regional training center for ATS services.

On November 5th 1999, CIPE receives a further recognition when incorporated as an academic unit of the Instituto Universitario Aeronáutico being therefore recognized with University status.

The system delivered by Radiocom, Inc. is a full scale working system based on the system delivered to the argentinean aeronautical authority in December 2005 and it comprises cluster servers hosting the Message Transfer Agent (MTA), the Message Store (MS), the Directory Server (DS) and a Gateway.

In order to provide AIS training the facility includes an aeronautical information databank called DBAIS® and equipment and services status databank named NOVEQSE that use X.400 P3 and X.400 P7 to communicate with the MTA/MS, thus becoming one of the first databank of its type available for use in an extended service AMHS environment.

There are supervisory facilities both in the server room and in the training room where AFTN terminals co-exist with AMHS Users Agents in order to emulate both environments.

The system is complemented with standard training aids that enhance the training experience.

Final System Acceptance tests were successfully carried out in December 2007, and it is expected that after induction of its teaching staff regular courses will start to be programmed for the second quarter of 2008.
