A TAU® AMHS Terminal on the REDDIG Regional Network linked with the AMHS installed in Argentina

During the 9th meeting of Coordination Comitee (RCC/9) of the REGIONAL PROJECT RLA/03/901 "REDDIG Management System and Administration of Satellite Segment" organized by the South America Regional Office of the INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANIZATION, at Lima, Perú, on March 23rd and 24th 2006, at the request of this office, an Information Paper describing the installation of the AMHS System in Argentina was presented and additionally two other presentations were submitted by RADIOCOM INC. The first presentation relates to the argentine implementation experience and the second describes the support capabilities available to every administration participating in the project RLA/03/91 in the event of sudden collapse of its AFTN network.

The participants of this meeting and also representatives of the satellite network MEVA II (Caribbean region) that gathered in a previous meeting could observe an AMHS Terminal installed in premises of the Peruvian Civil Aviation Authority (CORPAC) in order to support the presentations at the REDDIG meeting. The installation was agreed between the Argentine Aeronautical Authority and ICAO's SAM Regional Office.

As a result, one AMHS Terminal is operating from March 10th, 2006 in CORPAC's Main Communications Office at Lima city. This terminal is linked by the REDDIG network through its EZEIZA node to the argentine AMHS. The AMHS terminal is identified as "CN=SAEZLIMA" and it has been tested by CORPAC staff and by the representatives attending ICAO’s meetings.
